You Tube was a familiar internet tool for me. I have watched videos on it many times. I chose for this lesson to view the Obama/Mike Gravel video clip. It was enlightening and politically relevant. You tube is a great sight for personal expression just for fun or for other reasons, be they monetary, political or otherwise.
I will certainly utilize You Tube on the job, as patrons are really interested in viewing You Tube. The sight is easy to navigate and can be both educational and just plain entertaining.

Craig's List
For exercise 19, I chose Craig's List from the Web 2.0 award winners. I was familiar with Craig's list, but had never really used it. I found it to be easy to navigate and a very useful tool. A person can find almost anything on Craig's List. There was a wider array of application than e-bay. Because I don't live in a large city, I'm not sure how much the use of Craig's List could impact me, but I will certainly keep it in mind.

zoho writer
zoho write was a nice tool for word processing and spreadsheets, but is far beyond anthing I would every do.
sandbox
The wiki sandbox kicked my booty. I tried many times to master linking my blog, but finally quit in frustration. I will end my post right there because anything else I have to say would not be polite.

Exercise 16--Wiki
I have been a long time user of Wikepedia and have found it to be a very useful website. I am always mindful that it is user edited content and not always the gold standard. In the overall scheme of the web, I find that this is very good user content, but I do believe the "wiki revolution" will wane as the newness wears off.
Web 2.0--lesson 15
I read with great interest some of the perspectives regarding web 2.0 regarding library usage. I read with particular interest the article by Rick Anderson. I am acquited with Mr. Anderson from previous training and tend to agree with his view of how libraries need to change and adapt. He was spot on in his article that libraries need to help and educate patron with the distribution of information. Services need to be integrated and it takes training and assistance from library staff for patrons to step into the electronic age and the usage of libraries. Adapting to change can be difficult, but both librarians and patrons must be educated on services delivered in this electronic age.
Exercise 14
I explored the technorati search. I found it to be interesting and discovered there is a great wealth of information available. My wonder though, ishow people find the time to devote to such exercises.
